What's Been Happening

What's Been Happening? Well.... a lot of shopping! Both online (endless possibilities) and in town.
Two weeks ago, we found out what we are having (to be announced soon!) and I have been shopping mad since. We have bags of baby clothes, now the question is where to put them!
Apart from that, I am proud to announce a new obsession: Homeland. I started watching it on Saturday afternoon and am finished Series 2 by Tuesday evening. I am at a loss now though because I have no access to Series 3. My mission for tomorrow: locate a box set!

Pancake Tuesday
I had wanted to make pancakes this year, and came home from work to find this:

The best instructions I've ever received!

This could be one of two things : true love or a distinct lack of trust...

What would a post about pancakes be without a picture of their best friend.

Movie nights:

Lots of movies seen recently... Captain Phillips, The Island, Gravity, The Proposal.... I need not mention my favourite of the recent viewings. (Hint: it starts with Home...)

We had a visitor on St. Patrick's Day last week... it wouldn't have been St. Patrick's Day without her. Well, it would have, but it definitely wouldn't have been the same! The photos deserve their own separate post which will be coming soon.

There were lots of other things happening lately where my camera was unfortunately not present. It makes me realise I want to capture more of the every day moments. The more pictures, the more blogs, the more blogs; the more memories written down for me to look back over in years to come.

Have a good week.

Goodnight!

Look Who's Mommy Now!

A few months ago, we got some incredible news. News that is going to change our lives forever in the most amazing way. We are having a baby!
This is a post I never thought I would be writing so soon...it was always my dream that I will be "Mammy" but I had been willing to wait another few years to live it. Now if someone asked me to wait, I would tell them no.

To know I am going to have something that's mine, that will love me more than anyone and need me more than anybody ever has is an amazing feeling.

This is the only time I am going to experience my first pregnancy. I want to cherish all the little things that happen, all the tummy flutters, all the kicks, watching the ultrasounds. I am also trying to cherish the waking up 5 times a night for a toilet run and the fact I increasingly feel like I am sleeping with a melon under my stomach.
Morning sickness? That wasn't exactly something worth cherishing.  And whoever came up with the term "morning sickness" must have been a man. I had delightful all day sickness. A plastic bag resided at the foot of my chair in work for 2 months as well as a lot of last second toilet trips!

Since then, the sickness has passed, I am able to watch tv again, be on my computer, read books - all those little things that were close to impossible the first couple of months!

I am starting with these...

I already can't wait for the day to come and we can see our little one's face!

Have a great week everybody!

What's Been Happening

Why do weekdays pass so slowly and days off pass by so fast? Especially when you have lots of fun things to do and get to spend them with the people you love. These days, I am living for the weekend - it can't come soon enough. Getting home on Friday evening is the best feeling. You know you can sleep on the next 2 mornings, you know you'll get to see friends and go places you don't have time during the week, you know it's time to get on Skype/Facetime to your friends abroad and share stories about the week gone by.

Last weekend we celebrated my Godson Ben's 1st birthday

I had a very welcome visit from Dearbhla

We sat up in Howth, out in the cold drinking hot chocolates and coffees and talking about life!

Alan and I visited Clontarf Castle. It's so cozy there - little open fire places, high ceilings, old style furniture. I realise the picture below does not do that discription any justice but it was impossible to rest the camera anywhere on self timer to take any kind of decent photo. Alan needs a medal for his patience!

Almost Wednesday everyone..... half way there!

Have a great week!
