We Made Earrings!

Last week I learned how to make my very own earrings!! If I had the time, I'm pretty sure it's something I would become obsessed with, I'd make 20 a go, every day, until I got totally bored of the idea. I'm (sort of) glad to say I don't have the time to do that.

So for now..this is what I've got...

What's Been Happening

It's FINALLY summer in Dublin... it started yesterday and will probably end in 4 days..but it's OK because right now, the sun is shining! Everyone around is happier...people singing in the street, laughing eyes everywhere, summer wardrobes out, people walking around town with their 99s, and long days where it's bright out till 10pm.

Lots of good things happening at the moment, an engagement in the family, Milan on the weekend with my sister, planning trips to Tunisia in the summer and taking one of my best friends Dearbhla with me, planning my visit to Argentina in December for my best friends wedding and so much more!!

It's coming up to my one year anniversary in work...I just cannot believe how fast the time has passed. I think I will have an anniversary party..to celebrate achievements and the people I've met over the past year. I have been given a lot of opportunities and continue to be given more so I am trying to enjoy every moment of the craziness!!!
So crazy, in fact, I have not seen the gym in almost 3 weeks and my getting back on the tennis court has been postponed. (Not for too much longer, I hope)

My life right now is all about changes, growth and innovation; both inside and outside of work. I am part of a small innovation team at the Four Seasons, we have already held a few different events in the hotel for the staff and it's been going well. There has been A LOT of preparation, time, energy and more time given!! Most days I feel there are just not enough hours to get things done and live a life outside of the job. But I guess over this past year, I have realised that life outside is more important - your health, happiness, and the happiness of the people you love. If I can have a balance between the two, I will be a happy person. I have also realised it's important to spend time and MAKE time for the people you want in your life.
With that in mind, I have been incredibly busy on my days off...

Last month, one of my best friends became the Meath Rose and I was so happy I could share such a special ocassion with her and her family. Dearbhla has been  my best friend in Ireland since we were very young and it made me so incredibly happy to see her so happy and her family so proud...

Bluewater Innovation

Busy few weeks and more to come!!!

Outside of work has been a bit manic too, but good kind of manic. I was in London with Jacqueline last week where we got to do a bit of shopping and had some theatre time. We went to see Wicked and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Where we were told by the Concierge to 'come back later because he was in the middle of something complicated' !!!!!!

Loving London...

We ran into these guys on our shopping spree..they were opening the new Hollister!

After a long walk in the rain, at the Four Seasons, Park Lane

At the theatre...

As usual, I had an amazing trip with my sister.

Last weekend we went up to the market in Howth. I couldn't believe how packed it was! They were selling everything from fudge to jewellery, to chinese food to breads.. I love those random kinds of places!

After another busy week, we are getting ready to go to Milan! One more day of work and then off for the weekend. Bring it on!

Thatley Has Left The Building

How fast has one year gone? It feels like last week we were both sitting petrified at our training desk on our first day - thinking we are never going to survive this. It was both of our first jobs in Ireland and not knowing what to expect, who to trust or how to find our way around that maze of a building, we stuck to each other. 1 year later, not much has changed. (Well, we can find our way around....just about!)

I remember observing our first 'handover' with the team and us looking at eachother thinking.."what the hell are they talking about?"...Traces...alerts, SAs, PAs, CS, AM1s ....I mean...what the HELL! We may as well have been in China listening to them at their shift handovers!

Fire Training-our first week

I remember us having a mini freak out the day before we went out on the desk for the first time....

I remember us having a mini freak out while ON the desk together for the first time...

At my birthday

I remember us(more so me) having a mini freak out the first day I was duty manager with Tarin on the desk....

Christmas Party

Tarin is the type of person her friends can count on her for anything..and I am privilaged to say, I am one of those. I don't think I could have got through my first couple of months back in Ireland without her...

She's the kind of person who doesn't care what other people think and speaks her mind. Sometimes that includes incessant cursing at all around her, telling you you're being a twat if you are, and is also the most genuinely nice girls you can know. (as long as you don't piss her off).

I'll miss her total genoristy, her kindness, her fun, her loyality and her complete randomness.

There is always going to be a little bit missing at the Four Seasons without you...

Good luck Cashier number 99. Whatever you put your mind to, I have no doubt you will get it so...reach for the stars and regret NOTHING.

Will You Still Care?
Will You Be There?
In My Trials
And My Tribulations
Through Our Doubts
And Frustrations
In My Violence
In My Turbulence
Through My Fear
And My Confessions
In My Anguish And My Pain
Through My Joy And My Sorrow
In The Promise Of Another Tomorrow
I'll Never Let You Part

THE CRUCIBLE... Sheffield

After so many years, it was finally time to go to the Crucible to see the World Champs and who better to go with than Dearbhla, my partner in crime!

What a surprise the city of Sheffield was...we loved it! The cobbled roads, the old building, the shops, the atmosphere on the bustling streets near the Crucible...what a buzz.

The Winter Gardens

My friend got us tickets for his matches so we were sorted... the theatre was so nice, not like other snooker tournaments where your butt is so incredibly numb if you're sitting in the audience, the seats were so comfy we could sit back, relax, and enjoy the AMAZING show he put on!

Ready to go...

In between sessions, lunches, dinners and nights out, we found time to do some more exploring... Unfortunately is was raining most of the time apart from our last morning... hence, most of our pictures were taken then...

Inside the Winter Gardens

We also met two of the nicest people ever, friends of a friend, from Ireland.

The Irish contingent...

Dearbh, Kelly and Ferg

Ken and Dearbh

Dearbhla doing her motherly duties and ironing my clothes ...

What a friend!

Dinners out... and Dearbhla (the Meath Rose) modelling her sash!!!

Chris and Dearbhla at the Chinese

Dearbh and Django

As usual, our adventures were...eventful..... we had such a great time and finally being at the Crucible was so special, especially the result after 17 days!

Bring on next year!
